Margaret Rose & Michael were married in an intimate wedding at Congressional Country Club in early October. They’d originally planned a larger celebration, which they postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic, as did many couples who were originally scheduled to marry this year. Yet while they postponed their large celebration, they didn’t want to delay beginning their marriage. So they invited 15 close family members joined them at the club to witness them become husband and wife.

I had the joy of photographing part of Margaret Rose & Michael’s day in support of Manda Weaver photography. After the couple got ready in the hotel rooms inside the club house, we were all escorted in golf carts out to the 16th green of the course. After their sweet outdoor ceremony, Margaret Rose & Michael enjoyed champagne with their guests right there on the course. Back at the clubhouse, the star of cocktail hour was a professional magician; the couple hired him to entertain Margaret Rose’s two young nephews, who served as adorable ring bearers. But I dare say, the adult guests were entartained, as well! After cocktail hour, the boys went to bed, and the adults began a beautiful sit down dinner.

I’ve truly enjoyed photographing micro weddings and elopements this fall! I love the intimate, relaxed atmosphere of couples enjoying their big day with just their closest family and friends. And in spite of the stress of rescheduling a wedding celebration due to the pandemic, many of these couples will get to experience the best of both worlds: an intimate wedding this year and a larger celebration next year!
